In the business sphere, financial decision-making differs depending on the profile of the company. An entrepreneur in an initial stage is not the same as a professional who manages a well-established company, just as a self-employed person is not comparable to an entrepreneur.

Next, a brief review will be made between the similarities as well as the differences that exist between these three profiles: Entrepreneurs, businesspersons and professionals. When talking about similarities, it is necessary to mention the characteristics inherent to the personality such as, for example, risk tolerance, knowing how to deal with uncertainty, making decisions under pressure, the concern to satisfy a need, etc. All of the above are traits that, to a greater or lesser extent, are shared by businesspersons, entrepreneurs and professionals. A series of knowledge, competences and abilities could also be cited as similarity, such as, for example,  human resources management or the economic and financial supervision of the company.

With respect to differences, the stage in which the company is found could be highlighted. Traditionally, an entrepreneur has been considered a person who is starting a business project that does not have even to be constituted as a legal company. Therefore, this implies that the entrepreneur faces a high degree of uncertainty that they must know how to handle. On the contrary, a businessperson is that person or group of people who manage a company that is already established and that is operating in a certain market, so the nature of the decisions to be made will differ from those of the entrepreneur.
