When managing a family budget, a series of guidelines must be taken into account to improve management:
- To analyse what the existing income really is in our family economy, so that in this way we can set a spending, investment and savings limit for each month.
- To establish a list of basic needs and another list with the goods and services that we usually purchase each month, in order to check if a part of our recurring expenses are necessary.
- To involve every family member in the family budget management.
- To keep and classify important documents, invoices and writings.
- To evaluate and weigh in advance the execution of important expenses.
- To review spending needs and priorities over time.
- To schedule and control the due dates of the different payments throughout each year.
- To classify expenses into different groups, in order to establish a clear hierarchy.
- To monitor monthly budget execution, analysing possible deviations.
